Woman’s Current Boyfriend Shoots And Kills Her Ex-Boyfriend After He Breaks Into Their Home With A Gun

A couple in Louisiana woke up in the middle of the night to someone breaking into their home. By the time they realized what was happening, the woman’s ex-boyfriend, 44-year-old Bobby Edler, was standing in their room with a gun.

Edler ordered the woman out of bed at gunpoint and let her to the front door. On the way, her current boyfriend, 32-year-old Robert Esteves, was able to get his hands on a shotgun in order to defend his girlfriend and himself.

Esteves fired multiple shots at Edler, hitting him. Edler was able to return fire and struck Esteves in the arm.

During the exchange of gunfire, the woman called 911 to alert authorities.

When police arrived, Edler was found dead.

No charges have been filed and the investigation is ongoing. It seems like a pretty clear-cut case of self-defense.
