Young woman pulls handgun on would-be robber while working

A man walked into a used textbook store in Fort Dodge, Iowa set on walking out with a little extra cash, but not by selling some used textbooks like a normal person. He was there to rob them.

Unknown to the robber, the 22-year-old employee Jessica McDonald, had access to a handgun in a small safe behind the counter.

“I feel comfortable now using it, but I always said I never thought I would,” McDonald said.

“It was shocking to me when I started here that there is a gun and I always thought it was over the top and we didn’t need it, but I’m very glad that we have it,” she said.

The store’s manager, Paul Tigges, said that the firearm was put there for employees to use in case of such an event.
